ABOUT ME
I’m Rebecca Hansel, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (128872) based in Los Angeles County. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Mount Saint Mary’s University, and my professional background includes working with a wide variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and more, in both teens and adults. As an EMDR-trained therapist, I am passionate about integrating this effective approach into my practice to help clients heal and thrive. To learn more about EMDR and EMDR Intensives click here.
Becoming a therapist was a natural path for me, shaped by my own transformative experiences with therapy and a passion for holistic healing. My personal journey revealed the profound impact that compassionate, integrative care can have on mental and emotional well-being, inspiring me to help others find their path to healing and growth. Holistic healing involves looking at all aspects of a person’s well-being, including mental, emotional, and physical health.
I am dedicated to helping others navigate their paths to well-being, honoring each individual's unique needs and experiences. This comprehensive approach helped me, and now I aim to provide the same level of care to my clients, focusing on practical strategies to improve overall health and resilience. APPROACH
First and foremost, I want to commend you for taking the step to advocate for yourself and seek a therapist who will support your journey toward becoming the best version of yourself. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most powerful tools for personal growth. You are the expert in your own life, and through a positive, collaborative relationship, I can help you access the answers already within you—answers that may have been clouded by past or present experiences.
My approach to therapy is holistic, empathetic, and non-judgmental. I draw on a variety of evidence-based modalities to meet your unique needs, including Attachment-Based EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Somatic approaches. We’ll work together in a safe, calm, and supportive environment, where you can feel comfortable, empowered, and even have fun while doing the deep work necessary for healing. I want you to look forward to our sessions, knowing that you are gaining the skills and emotional processing you need for lasting change.
Whether it's through compassion-focused techniques, mindfulness, trauma-focused work, or exploring your inner dynamics with Psychodynamic or Emotionally Focused therapy, I’m committed to providing you with the tools to achieve the life you desire. Through proper psycho-education, coping strategies, and emotional healing, I’ll be with you every step of the way, offering the support you need for meaningful transformation.
“Growth occurs when individuals confront problems, struggle to master them, and through the struggle develop new aspects of their skills, capacities, views about life.”
