What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a widely researched and validated treatment approach used to treat a number of issues such as PTSD, anxiety, phobias, physical and sexual abuse, depression, grief, pain, sleep disturbances, eating disorders, disturbing memories, and many other psychological issues. I received my EMDR education through EMDR Professional Training an EMDRIA approved provider. If you're seeking quicker results with EMDR, consider exploring EMDR Intensives for a more accelerated healing process.
What is Attachment EMDR?
Attachment-Based EMDR is a specialized approach that integrates the principles of EMDR with attachment theory to address the emotional wounds caused by early relational experiences. This modality helps individuals heal from attachment-related trauma, such as neglect, abandonment, or inconsistent caregiving, which can deeply affect relationships and emotional regulation in adulthood. By reprocessing these early experiences, Attachment-Based EMDR supports the development of healthier, more secure attachments, both with oneself and others. It can be particularly effective for individuals struggling with issues like trust, fear of abandonment, difficulties in forming close relationships, or emotional dysregulation. Through this process, clients can cultivate a stronger sense of self-worth and emotional stability, leading to improved relationships and overall well-being.
What to Expect?
EMDR uses bilateral stimulations through eye movements, tapping, auditory tones, or pulsators that accelerate the brain’s ability to process and heal a dysfunctional or troubling memory. EMDR is a wonderful treatment option for individuals who haven’t found the results they desire through traditional talk therapy. Unlike other therapies it does not require talking in detail about the distressing memory. EMDR therapy reprocesses dysfunctional memories stored in the brain and allows the brain to resume its natural healing process.
